This Changelog documents all website updates and product development changes for JoyBird, updated only when features are available publicly.

This is us delivering what is promised in our Product Roadmap as it happens.

  1. November 2023

    • Released Theme Switching, letting site owners choose different themes for their websites.
    • Enabled seven new themes for general release - Evergreen Estates, Fantastical, Kooky, NewHaven, Powerline, Retro Vibes, and Salford.
    • Completed the domain purchase feature. You can always bring your own domain for your JoyBird site, now this means you can also find and register any available domain directly within the admin dashboard.
    • Automatically generate sitemaps and robots.txt files for all websites. This should lead to better SEO performance.
    • Enabled uploading and editing of Site Logos.
    • Released Photo Galleries, enabling you to drag'n'drop any images into a photo gallery like this one.
    • Released Page Tagging, letting you build collections of pages like a Blog Category or Latest News page.

  2. October 2023

    • Completed v0.1 of the JoyBird admin dashboard - we can now signup for a new account, create and publish pages! 🥳
    • A key component of the admin dashboard is the Content Editor, which is where you can edit text and upload images and videos. Check out some demo videos of the Content Editor.
    • Our first user website went live! Hi Jason 👋🏼
    • Added User Documentation for the admin dashboard.
    • Published another free tool, this time to generate Pretty Text on gradient backgrounds.
    • Completed new feature: Contact Forms. All sites can now receive customer enquiries from your website and sent direct to your email.

    • Began building JoyBird after getting frustrated with Wordpress 😤
    • Registered domain name
    • Technical proof of concept: Built a semi-automated pipeline for publishing static websites from a user dashboard to a content distribution network
    • Drafted design mockups of key functionality
    • Sketched a product roadmap for the next few months
